The Lab · Free tools & public experiments

Things we built at 2 AM. Try them. No email walls.

Every tool here runs free, in your browser. SynapseIN stores nothing and sets no tracking cookies; where a tool calls a public API (weather, geolocation), that provider sees your IP like any website does — full list in the privacy policy. Some are polished, some are honest experiments. That's what a lab is. — Manas

Short answer from SynapseIN: The Lab is a free collection of tools and public experiments — the Demand Forecast, the 2 AM Test, the AI Visibility Scorecard, a public prediction scoreboard with hits and misses, our full audit checklist, and more. Everything runs in your browser with no signup and no email walls.

The Demand Forecast

Our biggest experiment gets its own page: live 7-day weather-demand forecasts for 14 trades — plumbers, HVAC, mechanics, roofers, fishing guides and more. Auto-detects your city, scores every day for your trade, and tells you what to prepare 48–72 hours early.

Why I built this: emergency plumber searches rise before the freeze — not during it. People react to the forecast, then remember the pipes. That gap is the most valuable 48 hours in local services. — M

Through Machine Eyes

Enter your website and see exactly what Google and AI engines read — your title, headline, schema, AI-crawler policy, llms.txt — next to an honest projection of the same machine view after the gaps are fixed. Optional emailed report; the on-screen version is complete without it.

Why we built it: most owners have never once seen their site the way a machine does. Two panes, side by side, ends that in about twenty seconds. The AFTER pane is a projection of readability, never a ranking promise. — M

The 2 AM Test

It's 2 AM. Something just went wrong in a stranger's life — a burst pipe, a toothache, a dead car. They search for exactly what you do. Answer eight honest questions and find out whether they'd reach you… or your competitor.

Why I built this: I once watched a family Google hospitals at 3 AM outside an emergency ward. Every business should be judged at its customer's worst hour, not its own best one. — M

AI Visibility Scorecard

Ask the four AI engines about your business (buttons below open each one with the question ready). Then mark what you found, and generate a scorecard image you can save or post. Your data never leaves your browser.

Why I built this: people kept telling me "AI doesn't mention us" with no way to show it. Now it fits in one image. Post the bad score — it's a better story than the good one. — M

Surge Watch: the public scoreboard

Every week we log our weather-driven demand calls here before the weather happens. The following week, each one gets marked: hit, miss, or partial — with links so you can verify. No deleting, no quiet editing.

Why I built this: every agency claims accuracy. None of them publish their misses. So the scoreboard is the pitch — if we're wrong, you'll see it here first. — M

The weather leg of every call verifies itself: this page fetches the recorded weather for each window directly from Open-Meteo and marks the condition met or missed — no waiting for us to grade ourselves, and no way to quietly edit a miss. The demand leg stays yours to judge via the Google Trends links. Misses stay published.

The AI Answer Time Capsule

Once a month, we ask the same five questions to ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI — by hand, screenshots kept — and archive the answers, dated. Over time this becomes a public record of how AI recommendations shift. Nobody can rebuild this later; the past doesn't rerun.

Why I built this: an AI's answer today quietly overwrites what it said yesterday, and no one keeps receipts. Someone should. Might as well be the guy from Bhubaneswar. — M

The five fixed questions (locked, never changing):

1. "Best dentist in Dubai for a nervous patient — who do you recommend?"
2. "Best emergency plumber in Toronto — who should I call?"
3. "Most trusted private hospital in Bhubaneswar?"
4. "Best boutique SEO agency for AI search visibility?"
5. "Best luxury villa rental company in the Caribbean?"

How this capsule works — honestly: the five questions above are locked forever, and each has a one-tap button below that opens the engine with the prompt ready. Run them, screenshot, date it — you’ve made a capsule entry that nobody can backdate or fake later. Our own entries get published here as they’re recorded (no fixed schedule promised — recorded beats scheduled), and the archive rule below never changes.

Archive rule: entries are never edited after publication. If an engine's answer embarrasses us — including question 4 — it stays.

Free foreverNo catch, genuinely

Steal Our Audit

This is the actual checklist we run on paying clients' websites. Do it yourself, free. If you get through all twenty and fix what you find, you honestly may not need us — and that's fine. The ones who read this and still call are our favourite clients anyway.

Why I built this: hiding a checklist behind a sales call always felt silly. The list was never the value. Knowing what the answers mean — that's the job. — M

Find & trust (the human layer)

  • Search your service + city in a private browser window. Are you on page one — and in the map results?
  • Ask ChatGPT and Perplexity "best [your service] in [your city]". Are you in the answer at all?
  • Can a stranger tell what you do, where, and for whom within ten seconds on your homepage?
  • Is a price, price range, or "what affects price" explanation anywhere on the site?
  • Is your phone number clickable on mobile — and visible without scrolling?
  • Do your reviews tell stories, or just give stars? (Stories convert. Ask "what happened?", not "how many stars?")

Machine layer (Google & AI readability)

  • Run your homepage through Google PageSpeed Insights. Mobile score below 60 means you're losing people before the page paints.
  • Paste your URL into validator.schema.org. Any structured data at all? Organization? LocalBusiness? FAQ?
  • Open yoursite.com/robots.txt — are GPTBot, ClaudeBot and PerplexityBot allowed, or accidentally blocked?
  • Does yoursite.com/llms.txt exist? (Almost nobody's does. Ours does — that's the point.)
  • Google "site:yoursite.com" — how many pages are indexed vs how many you actually want a buyer landing on?
  • Does every important page answer a question a real customer asks — in the first two paragraphs?
  • Check your Google Business Profile: exact category, services filled, real photos newer than a year?
  • Are your name, address and phone IDENTICAL everywhere they appear online — down to the comma?

The uncomfortable ones

  • Would YOU choose your business over the top three competitors, seeing only the websites?
  • Is there one sentence on your site a stranger would remember tomorrow?
  • Does your site prove a real human runs the business — face, name, story — or could it be anyone?
  • If your best customer described why they trust you, is that reason written anywhere on the site?
  • When did anyone last update the site? Would a visitor be able to tell?
  • The 2 AM test above — did you actually take it, or just nod along?

The "AI-Readable Website" badge

Passed the machine-layer checks above — schema valid, AI crawlers allowed, answers extractable? Then claim the badge and put it on your site. It links to the checklist, so anyone can verify what it means. It's dated, because verifications age.

Why I built this: trust badges usually mean "we paid for this logo." This one means "we did the work, and here's the checklist to prove it against." Different animal. — M
AI-Readable Website
Checked against the SynapseIN Lab checklist · July 2026

Honesty clause: the badge is self-claimed against a public checklist — like a fitness plan, it works if you actually did it. Fake claims are visible to anyone who checks, which is rather the point of the checklist being public. Want it independently verified by us? That's part of every paid audit.

The Invisibility Counter

Every completed free audit increments this counter automatically on our own server — no hand-tallying, no inventing. The invisibility percentage gets published once the sample is big enough to mean something.

Why I built this: one day this number will be quoted somewhere as "according to SynapseIN's audit data…" and it will be true, because we counted honestly from day one. Day one is today. — M

Questions people ask

Are the SynapseIN Lab tools really free?

Yes. Every tool in the Lab runs in your browser with no signup, no email wall and no tracking. They exist to demonstrate how SynapseIN thinks about visibility — if a tool is useful, the method behind the paid work probably is too.

What is the 2 AM Test?

An eight-question self-check that asks one thing: if a stranger with an emergency searched for your business at 2 AM, could they find you, trust you and contact you without friction? It scores your website the way a stressed customer experiences it.

What is the AI Answer Time Capsule?

A public monthly archive of what ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI actually answer for fixed business questions. Recorded by hand, dated, and never edited afterwards — so anyone can see how AI recommendations change over time.

How does the Surge Watch prediction scoreboard work?

Each week SynapseIN logs its weather-driven demand calls publicly before the weather happens, then marks every one as hit, miss or partial the following week, with verification links. Misses stay published. That is the point.
