* Expertise — Does the author have the credentials? The degrees? The certifications? This is still important but is now secondary to Experience.

* Authoritativeness — Is the author recognized as a leader in their field? By other experts? By industry publications? By professional organizations?

* Trustworthiness — Is the content accurate? Is the website transparent? Is the business verifiable?

The December 2025 update saw experience-driven content gain 23% in visibility. Generic AI-generated content saw drops. The message is clear: Google wants to hear from people who have actually been there.

How to Show E-E-A-T 2.0 Signals

1. Author attribution. Use Person schema linking to the author's profile. Name. Credentials. Experience. Publications. The December 2025 update rewards named authors with verifiable credentials.

2. First-person content. "I've seen," "I've handled," "I tell my patients," "In my experience." These phrases signal experience. Google's quality raters are trained to look for them.

3. Specific details. Not "recovery takes 2-4 weeks." But "Day 3 is the hardest. The swelling peaks. Patients panic. I tell them to sleep at 45 degrees and avoid sodium for two weeks. By day 7, the swelling starts to subside. By day 14, most patients are comfortable in public."

4. Photos and evidence. Before/after photos with descriptive alt text. Process photos. Step-by-step documentation. These are experience signals that can't be replicated by AI.

5. Person schema with credentials. knowsAbout, credential, affiliation, sameAs. Every property you fill is a signal that this person has real experience.

E-E-A-T 2.0 is the reason generic content is dying. The businesses that let their content be written by people who have actually done the work — those businesses will win. The ones that rely on generic, textbook-style content will keep losing visibility.
